The Characters

  • Skylar is a girl with a single, modest goal: to regain control of her life after trauma unleashes powerful psychic abilities within her. There’s just one problem...how does she rein in these volatile gifts when they intensify daily, threatening to overwhelm her?

  • Eleanor is a woman haunted by experience. As a fellow empath, and Skylar's maternal grandmother, she knows the dangers of uncontrolled abilities. Though Skylar’s gifts outstrip her own, Eleanor is determined to provide whatever guidance she can before it’s too late.

  • Jade is a Trainer with the Wardens, tasked with identifying and guiding new empaths - the Awakened. Her very first assignment is Skylar, whose emerging abilities show raw potential. But Skylar refuses the training she has to offer, so Jade's first assignment could also be her last one.

  • Amy notices her lifelong best friend Skylar is going through a rough time weeks before summer break. Though Skylar won't reveal the cause, Amy is determined to keep supporting her from a distance.
